Mitch is Chief Operations Officer of Ironshore Inc., Chief Executive Officer of Ironshore's Bermuda office, and Chief Executive Officer of Iron-Starr Excess Agency Ltd. Prior to joining Ironshore, Mitch was Chief Financial Officer for Swiss Re's Americas Division from 2001 through 2005 and served as a director of Swiss Re America. Prior to Swiss Re, he was part of the leadership team at Marsh, the insurance services subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan Companies, and served in a variety of roles from 1973 until 2001 including Global Chief Financial Officer and Head of Technology and Corporate Services, as well as a member of the Marsh Board of Directors. Mitch chairs the Advisory Board at The George Washington University School of Business. He holds a B.B.A. from The George Washington University and an M.B.A. in Finance from Pace University.
Eric currently serves as Chief Underwriting Officer and joined Iron-Starr Excess Agency Ltd. in 2009 as SVP, Excess Casualty Manager with responsiblity for building the Excess Casualty business portfolio of the agency. Eric is a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter and previously served as Senior Vice President, Underwriting Manager for AIG Cat Excess Liability in Bermuda where he was responsible for the company's portfolio of occurrence, occurrence reported and claims-made accounts for complex corporate risks. Eric holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), as well as an Associate in Claims (AIC) designations and graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison School of Business with degree in Risk Management and Insurance.
Steve is the Financial Lines Manager at Iron-Starr Excess Agency Ltd. (“Iron-Starr”). Steve joined the Ironshore group from AIG CAT Excess, where he was a Financial Lines Underwriter. After joining Ironshore’s Lloyd’s platform, Pembroke Managing Agency Limited, Steve worked as a primary financial institutions underwriter before transferring to Iron-Starr in 2010. At Iron-Starr, Steve was initially charged with growing our international business, before being promoted to the financial lines manager. Steve holds a B.A. (Hons) from The University of Westminster and recently completed the Harvard Business School Program for Leadership Development.
Senior Vice President, Healthcare Practice Leader
Susan is Senior Vice President, Healthcare Manager with over 18 years experience in the Healthcare Industry. Susan joined Iron-Starr Excess Agency Ltd. in April 2013. Formerly she served as a Senior Vice President at Integro Bermuda Ltd., where she developed Integro's Bermuda Healthcare strategy as well as coordinated global placements with U.S., London, and Europe participation. Susan has specialized knowledge of university teaching facilities, specialty pediatric hospitals, managed care organizations, long term care, integrated delivery systems, physician group practices, and other healthcare risks. With experience in London, New York, and Bermuda, Susan has worked with all major healthcare markets and PIAA companies. Prior to joining Integro, Susan served as a Senior Vice President with Willis Bermuda Ltd. and also served as a Vice President in Marsh New York's Global Broking Healthcare Unit. Prior to this, Susan gained her underwriting experience with Zurich and St. Paul Insurance Companies. Susan is a graduate of Temple University with a BA in Risk Management Insurance and Business Law.
Larry, who joined Iron-Starr Excess Agency Ltd. in January 2010, is Senior Vice President, Claims Manager - Coverage Counsel and has over 36 years experience in litigation and claims management. Previously he was Vice President - Division Counsel, Financial Lines and Punitive Damages at Chartis Excess Limited with responsibility for claims and coverage in Bermuda, the U.S. and U.K. Prior thereto Larry was a member of Staff Counsel for AIG, Inc. for 16 years serving as Managing Attorney, Senior Litigation Specialist, and Senior Trial Attorney in the U.S. Larry commenced his legal career in private practice in 1978 as a trial attorney. During his litigation career he served as lead counsel in thousands of litigated matters involving a variety of common/complex coverage and primary/excess exposures, with more than 125 jury trial verdicts to his credit. Litigation practice included: Lawyers, Realtors, Accountants, Engineers, Physician, Psychiatrist and Hospital E&O; Miscellaneous Professional Liability, Environmental, Premises Liability, Product Liability and Transportation. He completed his Juris Doctorate at Rutgers University with a concentration in International Relations after receiving a B.S. in Political Science with a minor in Economics from Western Illinois University.
